CROUDACE OFFICES HAVE GONE GREENER
27 July 2011
The Croudace Homes Group has significantly improved the environmental credentials of the 500 plus new homes they build annually. It was therefore an obvious step to have a high tech makeover of their head offices in Tupwood Lane, Caterham and a total of 105 photovoltaic panels have recently been installed on the large south facing roof of the building.
The panels will generate 20,000 kwh of electricity per annum for at least 25 years, thereby reducing the cost of the office’s electricity bills by 15.5% each year. In addition, the system will displace 11,360kg of carbon dioxide per year.
Andy Yallop, Group Chief Executive, commented "This is the first stage of a phased programme to demonstrate Croudace’s sustainable credentials. As responsible housebuilders, we are very keen to prove we are pro-active in becoming greener and reduce both our office’s reliance on traditional energy resources and our carbon emissions into the environment. The digital display panel in our reception area shows precisely how much electricity the panels are generating, and makes for impressive viewing."
Supply and fix of the panels was undertaken by specialist installers Ecolution over a two week period.
